Citrix to Microsoft Migration

Strategic value: Should the application remain part of the organisation's future estate?

Application-related issues are often discovered late in transformation programmes. That can create migration delays, unexpected costs and failed pilot deployments. A Citrix application assessment should identify potential blockers before migration waves begin.

Common areas to investigate
Application compatibility: Will the application operate correctly in the proposed target environment?

Backend dependencies:  Does it depend on databases, file shares, APIs, servers or other infrastructure?

Authentication: Does it rely on Active Directory, certificates, integrated authentication or other identity mechanisms?

Licensing: Can the application licensing model support the proposed deployment architecture?

Network connectivity Does the application require access to specific network locations, ports or services?

User profile requirements:  Does the application store configuration or data within the user's profile?

Multi-user behaviour:  If moving to a pooled environment, does the application support multiple concurrent users?

Hardware dependencies:  Does it require USB devices, smart cards, dongles or other locally attached hardware?

Legacy components: Does it depend on older frameworks, runtimes, browser components or operating system functionality?
